Is it too late for braces?
No. Teeth can move at any age as long as your gums and bone are healthy. About half of our patients are adults, in their 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond. Treatment can take slightly longer than for teens, and ceramic braces or Invisalign keep it discreet.

What to expect at your first visit
Your first visit is free and takes about an hour: a tour, photos and X-rays as needed, an exam with Dr. Miller, and a recommended plan with your cost in writing. Many adults start the same day.
Cost, insurance and payment
Most patients invest between $3,000 and $7,200 for comprehensive treatment. You start with $300 down, with payments as low as $169 a month. Our in-house plan has 0% interest and no credit check, and we offer HFD financing too. Discounts are available for pay-in-full, family, military, student, teacher and first responder. Insurance depends on your plan: many have a lifetime orthodontic benefit, commonly $1,000 to $3,000, and some adult plans do not cover orthodontics. We verify your benefits before your first visit at no charge. HSA and FSA accepted.
Fitting treatment into a working schedule
Tampa is open until 7pm on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Brandon is open Wednesdays, and Apollo Beach is open Tuesdays. Most patients come every 6 to 10 weeks for 15 to 30 minutes.
Had braces before?
Teeth drift throughout life, whether or not you had braces. If your teeth shifted after childhood braces, we can usually straighten them again. After treatment, you wear retainers: full-time for a few months, then nights only. See retainers.

Some adults do. About 30 to 40 percent of our patients have teeth removed as part of treatment. At Miller Orthodontics the braces go on first, and any extractions happen after, coordinated with your dentist or an oral surgeon.
What are the least noticeable braces for adults?
Invisalign clear aligners are the least noticeable, and ceramic braces with tooth-colored brackets blend in. Dr. Miller tells you which option fits your bite. See clear braces for adults.
Can I get braces and keep working?
